TransVoyant Wins Contract Renewal with Department of Energy for SpatialFX

Alexandria, VA – March 5, 2013 – TransVoyant announced today that it has received a contract renewal with the Department of Energy (DOE) Transportation Command (TRANSCOM) for map software application interfaces.

Under subcontract to Ma-Chis Lower Creek Indian Tribe Enterprises, Inc., TransVoyant provides new maps that show the position of shipments on a street level for the DOE’s TRANSCOM Maps module. TransVoyant uses the latest version of SpatialFX®, its patented and scalable web mapping and visualization tool, the most recent version of NAVTEQ data, the Google maps API and a spatial routing service called GeoDecisions to provide the new maps and optimized routes for tracking shipment locations to determine if a vehicle has deviated from its pre-determined route. Users with varying levels of access utilize the TRANSCOM Maps module interface to visualize position data from the TRANSCOM GPS database with the corresponding U.S. shipment(s) locations.

Since Ptolemy drafted his ancient discourse on cartography, Charles Picquet placed a rudimentary heat map across the 48 districts of Paris showing cholera severity or Fred Armisen taught the world a few things about political maps on Saturday Night Live, GIS and derivative capabilities have been about something other than pleasing maps, pretty pictures or the coolest technology. Alright, perhaps Armisen’s skit was about cool technology, but after watching and laughing a bit, the frustration GIS technophiles cause industry and government executives crystallizes in the mind.

TransVoyant Wins Contract Renewal with U.S. Army for Depot Asset Visibility System

Anniston, AL – October 18, 2012 – TransVoyant announced today that it has signed a multi-year contract renewal with the Anniston Army Depot (ANAD) for Depot Total Asset Visibility System (DTAVS) Development and Maintenance Support.

TransVoyant originally architected, developed and deployed and continues to maintain and support the Visual Planner System (VPS) web-based system component of DTAVS for ANAD. In partnership with ANAD’s Directorate of Information Management (DOIM) organization, the TransVoyant professional services team has provided maintenance and sustainment support for VPS since October 2006. VPS is the material management solution that is used to track and report the status of ground combat vehicle components, sub-components and parts as they undergo the reset (remanufacturing) process in ANAD’s Industrial Complex. DTAVS has effectively reduced the depot’s spare parts inventory, while reducing re-manufacturing bottlenecks, expediting repair cycles, and saving the U.S. government and taxpayers millions of dollars.
